What Do You Do When You Lose Your Drone?!

This Toronto man took a shot in the dark and got lucky!

McKinley Raham was flying his drone around Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto. Unfortunately the little drone got out of his site and caught some wind. The drone was blown out of sight and could not be found. In an interview Raham said “It was a little shocking, Immediately my first thought was, I really hope this hasn’t landed on anyone or a car. I was a little terrified, to be honest.”

This is a problem that many people have experienced. Raham took a classic approach to this problem and put up missing dog drone posters. Raham was reunited with his drone after a few days. A near by employee of a restaurant saw the flyer and let his boys know. His boys had found the drone, and it was returned “in perfect condition” according to Raham.

This is a rare story as most are not found. For this reason the company Trackimo made a great little device that can be attached to any drone. This tracking device can be used to locate your drone no matter where it is and is not reliant on the drones battery supply.

While Trackimo also has units for fleet vehicles, where they started, this unit was specially designed with drones in mind. Considering the cost of a drone, Trackimo is a steal at around $150 with 1 years service.
