Crashed DJI Care Inspire1

Say Hello to DJI’s New Warranty Program Dubbed DJI Care

What number is almost as large as the number of new people purchasing drones? The number of people crashing their drone! To help people with this problem DJI is introducing their own protection plan structured very similar to Apple’s Apple Care and aptly named DJI Care.

This new care program is designed to give “peace of mind and an enhanced after-sales experience” to owners of the Phantom 3 line and the Inspire 1 v2.0. The plans cover time spans of six or twelve months. The prices range from $99 USD ($137 CAD) to $699 USD ($965 CAD). With the cost of the Phantom 3 Advanced the $US200 ($276) to cover repairs for its camera or the aircraft itself is not SO unreasonable, especially with how often people crash these units, even if the $US200 is the 6 months plan.

DJI Care will be available to customers in the US, mainland China and parts of Europe when it launches. We hope to see it in more areas soon for those of us who are not totally confident in our piloting abilities.
